The first Honduran pastors’ conference was held at the newly rededicated Willingham Center on August 29-30, 2015 with 90+ pastors and church leaders in attendance. The theme of the conference was “Celebration of Discipline” and the book by the same title laid the foundation for the conference lectures.
Conference presenters included Executive Director Clint Cook, GBIM Director Mark Powell, outgoing GBIM Interim Director Jim Schremp, former missionaries Don Key and David Kelle, Pastor Charles Richardson (Christina Massey’s pastor from Hitt’s Chapel Church near Piggott, AR), Pastor Miguel Ramirez (Faith Home minister), and Pastor Marco Tullio (La Sabana Church).
Food for the conference was prepared by a group of Honduran ladies who volunteered from our local churches to prepare the noon meal and Cecil and Velda Cook and Joyce Hughes who prepared the evening meal. Other team members who helped make the event possible were Kirsten Ober and Pete Leija.
Conference facilities and planning for the conference were provided by Christina Massey, Director of Faith Home. The Willingham Center will now be used not only to host training classes and seminars for our churches but also will be utilized as a meeting and retreat center for our churches as well as other mission agencies in the area.
