Slaters Appointed as Missionaries
Will Serve as Missionaries to Saipan
General Baptist International Ministries (GBIM) is pleased to announce that Josh and Rachael Slater have been approved to serve with General Baptist International Ministries and have been appointed to Saipan for a four-year term. They have also been approved by the Saipan Community Church (SCC) to serve in the role of Senior Pastor at SCC.
“We are very excited about the experience, gifts, and talents the Slater’s bring to this appointment,” stated GBIM Director Mark Powell. “But more than that, we are excited about the new level of partnership that exists between GBIM and SCC and the role the Slaters will play as both Senior Pastor family and Missionary family.”
Both Josh and Rachael attended Oakland City University. Josh was raised in a General Baptist pastor’s home and has strong ties to the Mt. Olive General Baptist Church in Newburgh, IN where his father Ken serves as pastor. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Oakland City University. Rachael is a multi-talented person with many unique talents and gifts and a strong background in the performing arts. She came to Oakland City University from Pennsylvania where she had strong ties with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Josh and Rachael have five children and previously served General Baptist congregations in Granite City and Norris City, IL.
