For many years General Baptist International has received an annual VBS offering that has helped with dozens of projects. This year GBIM is introducing LAUNCH: Launching Kids and Youth in Missions Awareness and Involvement.
Phase 1 of LAUNCH is LAUNCH Give and will include the annual VBS offering plus a new program for youth called Day of Poverty. The offering this year will be new roofing and housing for the children at Faith Home. But we want to do more than just receive an offering. Our desire is a generation of General Baptists who are misonal in their thinking both locally and internationally. So this year we have produced some lessons for both VBS and Day of Poverty to help kids not just give to missions but learn more about missions.
Phase 2 of LAUNCH is LAUNCH Go. This is for older teens and young adults and is our new internship program. Jim Pratt, Mission One Coordinator, is overseeing the internship program and many exciting developments are in the works.
With the new LAUNCH Give emphasis and the addition of the Day of Poverty comes a new streamlined website to help you find the resources you need. Several resources are already online for both the Day of Poverty and VBS. Visit today and visit often as new resources are added!
