Good afternoon and happy Friday! As I write this it is about 6:30 pm here with a crisp, fall temperature of 97 degrees! We are thankful for all the sunshine, which is drying up all the floodwater. Neighbors are slowly returning to their homes and cleaning up, as they have been over the past couple of weeks. Sahel Academy’s campus is mostly dry now, except for a few classrooms and the soccer field, which still has quite a bit of standing water.
We wanted to mention a few special prayer requests as you go into the weekend. We appreciate your remembering these requests.
* Nicole and I have a big meeting planned next Wednesday with the chief of the village that we are working in. We plan to discuss our plans with him, so we would appreciate you praying for this meeting and that he would be receptive to us buying land and building there. ***** ***** is the name of the village, GB for short, which should be easy enough for many of you to remember. It’s a little intimidating, but we know God goes before us, so we are expecting great things, no matter the outcome of the meeting.
*We have a new friend, a West African man, who is helping us with work in the village, by interpreting for the Zarma people there. He is married with an 8-month-old baby boy. We are excited about many opportunities to work with him, and we appreciate you praying for him and his family as we all work together. His name is ****
…and the flood relief efforts continue, thanks to your amazing generosity! Oil, noodles, couscous, mosquito nets, drinking water, powdered milk, buckets and cooking utensils are some items we’ve been able purchase because you care, and you gave. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support! Thank you for loving West Africa! Thank you so much, as always, for your prayers.
As always you can contribute to the ministry in West Africa at donate.generalbaptist.com or text “give” to 573.281.7171. After you select International Missions, text “West Africa” in the note field that will appear.
