Brantley January Udpate (Philippines)

The Brantley’s Journey To Service
I have said from the very beginning that I would always be honest with you all. Well here is my honesty at this moment. I am full of emotion as I type this update. First of all, I don’t have much to update you on, except to tell you that we are still here. Second, when I tell people that we are STILL here, it causes me to question why are we still here? I have the utmost faith that God will grant us access in His timing, but the human side of me wants answers. So, I am asking that you all pray for my family. Pray we have peace through this process and time of waiting. Pray that God shows us what He would have us do until we leave. Pray also that our financial supporters understand that the delay is out of our control and they continue to support us so we can keep working for God in the here in now.
As many of you know, we were supposed to leave January 18, 2021 for the Philippines. Our bags were packed, tickets were purchased, emotions ran high. The 18th has come and gone. COVID is still the reason for our delay. With the new variant of COVID making an appearance in many countries around the world, the Philippines has issued new travel restrictions that not only include the requirement of travel visas, but have restricted travel all together from 36 countries, including the United States of America. Current restrictions are in place until January 31, 2021. We will be eagerly awaiting updates. During this delay, we are praying daily for God’s guidance. We still feel He has plans for us in the Philippines. We intend to work diligently to get there.
You may be wondering what we are doing in the meantime. We are continuing to homeschool the kids. We are also continuing our language lessons twice a week, trying to learn as much as we can until we leave. Schuyler began filling in at Lilbourn Church while they search for a new pastor. We have been taking the kids to youth group at New Hope in Silva on Wednesdays. They have both made us feel very loved and welcome. During the week, Camp Allen has been our service area. We have been helping with lawn maintenance and tree trimming in preparation for upcoming camp activities. This Saturday we will be helping with The Table food ministry at Twin Rivers Church. We are called to be Jesus’ hands and feet. We look for service opportunities everywhere we go.
We thank you all for your prayers and financial support. We could not do the work God has called us to without you. Please continue to pray for America and the Philippines. Please pray for Jeremiah and Allie. They are having a difficult time with the delays also (though in typical teenage fashion they won’t come out and say it).
God Bless
