Dorcas Sewing Centers Closed by COVID Reopen (India)

Pastor Prakash sent a pictorial summary of some of the Dorcas Sewing Centers that were closed due to COVID but have been able to reopen.  The photos of these centers are located in “tribal” areas of India where India Association ministers.  The women learn tailoring as well as pray and hear the gospel message.
Many of those enrolled are Hindu and Muslim, and they faithfully attend in spite of the heavy Christian influence and some give their hearts to Christ. At graduation, each successful student is awarded a new treadle sewing machine that they can use to support their families. The machines cost about $50 USD (depending on exchange rate). The student pays half the cost and a mission stipend pays the other half. All costs associated with the classes are supported by your donations. To help please visit donate.generalbaptist.com or text “give” to 573-282-7171 – select International Missions and then type Dorcas Sewing Center in the note field that appears. Thank you.
