Lydia Sewing center, Batch # 22 Fourteen members have successfully finished their sewing course and each received a sewing machine. This course took place in Chi*** tribal village, where Pastor Sridhar planted a church eight years ago. Five young girls from this batch started coming to church every Sunday for the last two and half months and two girls recently gave their lives to Christ. Please join us in praising the Lord for what He’s doing in the lives of people through various ministries. Thank you all for your continuous prayers and support toward this ministry, your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
A second group also finished their program as well. We praise God for this wonderful opportunity to serve and help these ladies. After successfully finishing their sewing course these 15 ladies have received their sewing machines. This project took place in Pastor Karunanidhi’s church in Thim***** village. It takes 13 hours by bus and an hour boat ride for us to reach this community. Out of 15 members, two ladies gave their lives to Jesus.
Many of those enrolled in sewing centers are Hindu or Muslim, and they faithfully attend in spite of the heavy Christian influence and some give their hearts to Christ. At graduation, each successful student is awarded a new treadle sewing machine that they can use to support their families. The machines cost about $100 USD (depending on exchange rate). The student pays half the cost and a mission stipend pays the other half. All costs associated with the classes are supported by your donations.
