The Brantley’s Journey To Service
Last month we were very excited to announce that the Philippines was going to be allowing international travel. After sending that email, I began the process of contacting the embassy in Washington DC and the Philippines. The information I received was a little disheartening to say the least. I was told by the US embassy that visas were not being issued without a travel exemption from the Philippines. Then I was told by the embassy in the Philippines, that we did not qualify for a travel exemption at this time. Though we have been told this by both embassies, we have sent all the required documents to the US embassy requesting our visas. This way our paperwork will already be in the works when the Philippines starts allowing travel. Please continue to pray for the Philippines to reopen soon.
What have be doing while we wait?
We have been going to language lessons twice a week. Our vocabulary is growing! We are able to sing several hymns, say the alphabet and our numbers in both Cebuano and Tagalog. We are very grateful to Chris and Annie for all the time and effort they have put into our lessons.
We have been helping at Camp Allen as they prepare for the summer season. The big project this month has been to get one of the buildings ready for the counselors to stay in this summer. Schuyler and Jeremiah helped Jonathon pull carpet out, buff concrete floors, and paint the ceilings.
Schuyler has continued to fill in at churches that do not have full time pastors. We have had the honor to help at New Bethel twice this month. They made us feel very loved and welcomed. Schuyler also had the privilege of baptizing a gentleman that had accepted Christ while he was filling in at Lilbourn GB.
I had the honor of speaking at the one-day women’s conference at Duvall’s Chapel in Greenville, KY as well. In June, we are scheduled to help at Fairmount GB, Logan Creek, White River camp, and Camp Clark. We also had the privilege to help distribute food to those in need at The Table hosted by Twin Rivers GB Church. Though we have been delayed in our departure to the Philippines, we are continuing to seek opportunities to serve.
We want to thank everyone for the prayers and financial support that we continue to receive. If you would like to help support us financially in the call God has placed on our hearts to help spread the Gospel in the Philippines, support can be sent to:
