Update on our journey–again we are still here in the United States. The Philippines is still not allowing international travel. We have submitted all of our paperwork for visas to the embassy. At this time they are not issuing visas without a travel exemption being issued by the Filipino government. We have requested a travel exemption but they say we do not qualify for one. We will continue to maintain communication through email and keep you all updated. We are still living at Camp Allen. They have begun their summer season and that keeps us fairly busy helping out (especially the kids).
But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus–the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. Acts 20:24 NLT
We have been living out this scripture this month by assisting at two church camps and evangelizing at three different churches. God has called us to serve in the Philippines, but until we are able to get there we will continue to tell others here in the United States about the Good News. You see, all Christians are called to spread the gospel; not just those who are called to be preachers, pastors, evangelists, youth leaders, Sunday school teachers….. So I would like to pose a question to all of you–where did you serve this month? Who did you share the Good News with? Did you live out Acts 20:24 like Paul? I encourage each of you to find someone to share the gospel with each day. Make a difference in someone’s eternal life.
June 14-18, 2021, we were honored to be able to teach at the White River Youth Camp. The theme of camp was “Light”. We did small group study on the movie “God’s Not Dead”. I had a class of amazing young ladies. I told them at one point they were making my head hurt because of the questions they were asking. I was having to really dig to find answers. They were growing in the faith!! Sometimes you don’t know what you are going to end up doing to help people learn about God. The fellows here were barnyard animals, helping to draw the kids to their flock. Brother Neil had some moves during singing time!! Speaking of singing, the kids did an amazing job with specials each night.
June 24-26, 2021 we were at Camp Clark in Kentucky. This was our home camp that we have helped with for the past five years. We were very excited to be able to be back this year. Normally it is a week long and the kids stay overnight. This year they did things a little different and it was only three days and the kids did not stay overnight. It was still a lot of fun. The theme this year was “Be Bold and Courageous” so they had a military type theme throughout the lessons and activities. The best part was that we saw one child come forward and accept Christ as his Lord and Savior. That is what it is all about!!
Bro. Earle Eversole from Tilden General Baptist Church was at Camp Clark helping out with some of the activities. Here he was demonstrating the “no man left behind” theory. Which can be applied through scripture as well. We see it where Jesus talks about leaving the flock for the one sheep in the Parable of the Lost Sheep. That is what these youth camps are all about, seeking the lost and guiding them to the flock. Thank you for your help Bro. Earle.
What does the immediate future look like for us and our ministry? Well, we are already scheduled to be at four different churches in July either to share our call to the Philippines or to preach the gospel. We will be attending the Summit in Owensboro, KY the last week of July. We are also continuing our language lessons twice a week. We currently do not have any churches scheduled on Sunday nights or Wednesday nights. If you know of a church in need of a preacher for those services, please let us know.
We are very grateful to all those who pray for us and the ministry God has called us to in the Philippines. We are also very grateful to all of those who support us financially in that call as well. It is an honor to serve as your missionaries. If you do not currently support our journey financially, but would like to, donations can be sent to:
