New Hand Tractor for MBI

New Hand Tractor for MBI Farm

Phil and Cindy Warren report that Matigsalug Bible Institute (MBI) has dedicated a new hand tractor and weed eater for use on the MBI farms.  These were greatly needed as we move forward on farm rehab at MBI.

Phil stated his thanks for all who made this possible, “You could not imagine the joy that was present as we dedicated the tractor and weed eater back to God and gave thanks to Him and for your generosity. Tears streamed down faces and proud smile appeared when we started them for the first time… Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

General Baptists began ministry among the Matigsalug in 1977.  The Bible Institute was formed shortly thereafter to train pastors and Christian workers for this “tribal” group in the heart of the island of Mindanao.  Since then, hundreds of tribal pastors and Christian workers have been trained for ministry.

MBI continues to play an important part in the General Baptist Mission strategy.   The need for tribal outreach continues since the Joshua Project (which tracks unreached people groups) lists over 30 unreached people groups still in the Philippines.  Many of these groups are Muslim.

MBI therefore plays a significant role in the GBIM “10/40 Impact” initiative to take the gifts God has given us and reach out to unreached people groups, especially in the 10/40 window).  Missionary Phil Warren envisions MBI as a World Evangelism Center equipping Filipinos to partner with us to send witnesses to unreached places in ways that are not currently available to traditional missionaries and to finish the task of evangelism and church planting to the unreached people on the island of Mindanao.

You can help by sending a gift today to help with the farm rehab or to sponsor a MBI student.  Send your gift to GBIM 100 Stinson Dr. Poplar Bluff, MO 63901.  Make your check payable to GBIM and add a note in the envelope stating where you would like the gift to be used.
